Your data
Matchnight is a small app for organising sport among people who already know each other. This page says what it holds, why, and how to get rid of it.
Last updated 18 September 2026
What it holds
- Your name in that league — you choose it, and it can differ in every competition you join.
- Whether you're playing on a given night, and the scores of matches you played.
- Optionally: a photo, a country, a date of birth, a short note and a preferred side. All yours to leave blank.
- An email address, only if you signed in with one. Most players never give one — they join by personal link.
- A notification token, if you turned notifications on, so your phone can be sent the draw.
No tracking, no behavioural analytics, no advertising. Nothing is sold or shared. There are no third-party trackers on any page.
Who can see it
The people in your competition, and nobody else. Your profile is set separately in every league you join — what you show one group has nothing to do with another.
Your flag and age are hidden by default. Your photo can be hidden, and any player can report a photo, which hides it from everyone immediately while the host decides.
Two things can't be hidden: your name and your position in the table. A league table without those isn't a league table.
The share links, honestly
Availability and draw pages can be opened by anyone holding the link, without signing in. That's deliberate — it lets a host drop one link in a group chat and everyone answer in a tap.
So those links are unguessable rather than secret. Search engines are told not to crawl or index them. But anyone your host shares a link with can see who is playing.
If that isn't right for your group, your host can make the league invitation only.
Where it lives
On servers in Singapore, run through Vercel. Sign-in emails are sent by Resend. Those are the only companies that touch your data, and only to provide the service.
How long it's kept
For as long as your league runs. Results are kept as league history — that's what a table is — but your profile details are yours to clear at any time.
How to get it deleted
Ask your league host to remove you, or email hello@matchnight.games saying which league and which name. You can also clear your own photo, country, date of birth and note yourself, without asking anyone.
Children
Matchnight isn't intended for under-16s. If a younger player is in your league, don't put their photo or date of birth in it.
This will change
The app is in development. This page describes it as it is today, not as it might be. When what it does changes, this changes with it.
